You have to define the following parameters in FORTE before exporting the song to Bandora:

  • the chords
  • the melody (optional)
  • the song structure (optional)

The harmonical structure is the most important information. You define it with the usual FORTE chord symbols in the input palette. You can also access them via the "Add Chord" button in the Bandora ribbon.

The harmonies is all Bandora needs for composing. It doesn't need a melody, but if you do have one, it is recommendable to insert it before exporting the song to Bandora. This way you can mix it with Bandora's generated accompaniments.

Bandora doesn't show any notes, just chords and empty staves. This does make work in Bandora a lot easier, but if you enter a reasonably complex song, you might want to enter its structure (Intro, Chorus, Verse etc.) now. FORTE 10 has an option for this. You can find it in the input palette, in the "text/chords" ribbon. It is also accessible via the "structure" button in the Bandora ribbon.

When you have set up the chords, the notes and the song structure, simply send the data to Bandora by clicking the "Bandora" button.
